Just to prove that you don't need expensive equipment, I'm using a Tokina 75-300 f/4.5-5.6. This lens is about 20 years old and I found it for 10 bucks on craigslist. If you check out the reviews on
PentaxForums it's not even rated very high. I think the SR on the K-5 improves any lens.
